We had a great dinner provided by Penny Trant. We shared our God Moments from the week and Penny lead us in prayer. The meeting started at 7:00 with adjustments to the agenda and regrets from Charles Hall and Nancy Castaneda. Jan Scrutton joined us as a guest.
We passed the minutes from November, then Lynn explained the budget sheets, pointing out several small changes. We talked briefly about the bell plaque which will be installed this week.
Jan Scrutton presented an outreach project with Fremont Unified School District. Jan had met with Dr. Morris regarding the school lunch program debt for several children who cannot afford to pay for school lunches. The proposal is to pay the debt for three schools. The vestry voted to approve the proposal to support FUSD’s child nutrition services.
We then received an update on the little church project which will be moving forward soon. Meg presented a proposal to buy a leaf blower for the church which was approved by the vestry.
We discussed the 2017 budget in line by line detail as Lynn explained it to us. We added a Disaster Preparedness line item to the budget. We also agreed to add an Associate Rector saving line.
We approved the clergy housing allowances. Lori explained why the time of the general meeting will be changed and the single service will be at 10:30 a.m. instead of 10:00 a.m. The vestry voted to hire a bookkeeper at the market rate.
After accepting the reports, we adjourned at 9:05 p.m. and celebrated compline together in the little church, led by Penny.
