Children’s Programs

Sunday school, for all children aged 4 to 7th grade, meets during our 10:30 AM service with our Children and Youth Minister Jan Scrutton. Children gather outside church at 10:30 and return to the service at the Peace to be with their families for the Eucharist.

Children are very welcome in church and books, activity sheets and crayons are available for your use.

St James’ Episcopal Church is a community striving to become more child centered. We have a history of welcoming and encouraging all people and understand that there is need in all of us to continue learning and exploring our faith and that the opportunity to grow in faith should begin with our youngest members.

We offer a variety of opportunities for children and families to connect and get involved, from Sunday School, to Young Acolytes, special events, annual summer day camp, the annual Easter Egg hunt and Christmas Pageant.  Please feel free to contact our Children & Youth Minister, Jan Scrutton for information on any of our regular or special events.

Young people in 6th – 12th grade are welcomed at Episcopal Youth Fremont, a youth group for students at St. James’ and St. Anne’s Episcopal Church in Fremont, meeting on the second Sunday of the month.
