On March 10th<\/sup> the vestry met at 6:30 for dinner and to share God moments.<\/p>\n

We convened the meeting officially at 7:00 p.m. with an opening prayer.<\/p>\n

Lori added approval of the vestry retreat minutes and then gave an update about Bud Spalding.\u00a0 We approved minutes from the previous vestry meeting, the annual meeting and the vestry retreat.\u00a0 Then Lynn gave the financial report which indicates that the pledges are almost on target and all expenses are as expected.\u00a0 The financial reports were accepted.<\/p>\n

We discussed the need for a new thermostat for the education building and voted to approve that purchase.\u00a0 Meg reported that we received the insurance claim for the water main credit from the insurance company and we also received a credit of $100 from the water company.\u00a0 The Memorial Garden committee request to spend $600 from the garden account on sprinkler system repair and replacement was approved.\u00a0 Meg read the request from the children\u2019s minister to install a notice board near the playground to advertise events to community members who use the playground.\u00a0 The vestry approved this >$300 expense.<\/p>\n

Lori explained the parochial report which states that we have 138 average Sunday attendance and our membership is slowly rising.\u00a0 The actual number of pledging units is greater than the 91 reported because more pledged came in after the report was written. \u00a0The vestry approved the report and Lori thanked Lynn for her work on it.<\/p>\n

Meg brought a revision to the facility use agreement.\u00a0 A detailed discussion ensued regarding the philosophy of renting out the worship space.\u00a0 There is a potential for income, concerns were voiced about the safety of the facility.\u00a0 The advantage of community involvement is significant.\u00a0 The consensus was that more investigation should be done.\u00a0 Lori would investigate the religious practice of the potential renters.\u00a0 Vestry will investigate the going rate for space rental for sanctuary space.<\/p>\n

Lori reminded the vestry about their vestry assignments.\u00a0 We agreed to make plans with dates for the next vestry meeting.\u00a0 Lori announced Anna Horen\u2019s ordination on June 11th<\/sup> as a transitional deacon.<\/p>\n

We ended with Compline in the little church.<\/p>\n
