The vestry met on June 20, 2019 and enjoyed a great pasta dinner provided by Stephen Ferro. Sylvia Ma shared that work on the Little Church Restoration project is going well and is projected to finish by the end of July.
The May vestry meeting minutes, financial reports, and staff and ministry reports were all accepted and approved.
Lori discussed a report from St. James’ new insurance company requesting certain repairs and maintenance items be completed. Several vestry members volunteered to look into the requested repairs or maintenance and report back to vestry at a later date.
The vestry approved funds to be used for clean-up of the Memorial Garden. Lori gave an update on the removal of the pittosporum tree to be removed by the Little Church. We have applied for the permit to remove the tree and are waiting to receive it.
Lori also shared that there has been an increase in people coming to the church office and asked for assistance with some methods of providing short-term assistance. Vestry members volunteered to help with the process of obtaining motel vouchers and other means of providing short-term help.
Finally, the vestry spent some time discussing the one of this year’s goals, that of improving Sunday attendance.
The meeting was adjouned, and we shared Compline in the main church.
