Join Dan Carlson during the Tuesdays of Lent for a virtual Lenten Study “Lenten Wilderness”.
This class will run for five weeks, meeting from 7-8pm every Tuesday evening on: February 23, March 2, March 9, March 16, and March 23.
This class will be very conversational in structure, so please come ready to share questions, thoughts and ideas as we explore the Wilderness together. You may want to spend a little time reflecting on Mark 1:9-15 ahead of our first class (but doing so is totally optional).
As a conversational starting point, I’d ask you to consider sharing a story about one of the following at our first class on February 23:
1. An unsettling experience you once had in a literal wilderness (this would be an encounter in an actual wild place in nature: Hiking in the woods/camping in the desert/getting lost in the mountains/etc).
2. An unsettling experience you once had in a metaphorical wilderness (this could be any time you found yourself entering a period of deep uncertainty in life: changing careers/moving to a distant place/losing faith in a certain form of religious belief/etc).
No one is required to share a story, but the hope is that this exercise might help us begin to unpack our class theme (and maybe help us get to know each other a little better while we’re at it).
