We met at 6:30 to share dinner which was provided by Evelyn and share ”God moments”.
Lori was on vacation and Nancy Casteneda was at Flat Landers so neither could join us for the meeting, Charles Hall was absent due to illness.
Meg Amouroux led the meeting. She began by posting a list of norms for the meeting. We added the August 24th minutes approval to the agenda. Lynn Locher then gave a synopsis of the financial reports; pledges paid percentage is down this month. If payroll had been included there would have been a deficit this month. We wrote down questions and comments that came out of the capital campaign presentation and discussion for the October meeting. Vivienne Paratore gave a report on the Stewardship kick-off Event on October 8th.
Meg talked about the Stewardship Reflections and Moments for the stewardship campaign. We picked which dates and times we would give our reflections. We will practice next Vestry meeting. The reports were accepted into the minutes.
John Butterfield taught us a model for the life of the church. It starts with gathering which includes inviting, greeting, orienting, and incorporating. Then it moves onto transformation which revolves around prayer and worship and also includes studying, learning, life in the community and action. Finally we end up in sending where God sends us to our families, work places and other places in the world.
Finally, Meg passed out a survey about the meeting. We closed with compline led by Evelyn.
