Stewardship Corner – January 2016

“Give, and it will be given to you…”  Luke 6:38

I know you’ve heard and read a lot of reminders about turning in your pledge for 2016.  Well, this will be one more time because pledging to St. James’ is something I’m asking everyone who calls St. James’ “their church” to do.  We are off to a good start, but we need everyone’s participation in order to know what kind of budget to approve at the Annual Meeting in January.  We need everyone’s support to keep the lights on, pay the bills, provide Sunday morning church services, to reach out into our community and share God’s love – just to name a few of the things your pledge helps St. James’ do.

I pledge to St. James’ because I am grateful for the gifts God has given me.  I also pledge because I love St. James’ Church and the St. James’ Community.  I love Sunday morning services, the warm and friendly people, the support in times of need, the educational programs, the outreach opportunities that make a difference in our community, the sermons, the social times, the music, the children, the Memorial Garden, the beautiful campus…I could go on and on, but I think you will agree that we are very fortunate at St. James’.

So, please, if you haven’t turned in your pledge for 2016, do so soon.  You may make a pledge to St. James’ by completing a Pledge Form and placing it in the offering plate on Sunday mornings, by mailing it to the Church Office (the green envelopes are pre-addressed), or by submitting it online via the St. James’ website (www.saintj.com).  Pledge Forms are available in the rack outside the Church Office, or call the office (797-1492) to have one mailed to you (or ask an usher for one on Sunday morning).

Please join me in making a pledge to St. James’ for 2016 by giving prayerful consideration to what you will contribute.  Stewardship is our humble acknowledgement that all good things come from God.

Happy New Year – I look forward to seeing you at St. James’!
