 Sacred Space Update

SacredSpaceHayward-smSacred Space is a specialized mission of the Diocese of California that provides an outdoor worship service and lunch to homeless persons each Sunday afternoon. This ministry is spearheaded by The Rev. John Trubina.  Currently there are two locations, Hayward and Oakland, and along with other parishes in the Southern Alameda County Deanery, St. James’ participates by providing lunch one Sunday per month at the Hayward location.  The schedule for July-December is posted in the Parish Hall, and I encourage you to sign up to help provide lunch.
In the past, I have usually been the one to deliver the lunches on a regular basis.  Going forward, my availability to do that will be limited.  I encourage you to also sign up to deliver the lunches and perhaps stay for the worship service as well.  Many people have participated, and find it to be a rewarding and love-filled day.  Let’s show Sacred Space our St. James’ spirit!
Many, many thanks to all who have provided sandwiches, bottled water, chips, granola bars, and fruit cups in the past.  Don’t forget to check out the signup sheet for the rest of the year!
